one-sprite-bubble-wrap (5/10)

Inspired by andresmh’s BubbleWrap, but displeased with the load time for all those sprites, I decided to make a one-sprite bubble wrap program. I redid the pictures, the sound, and the scripts, so there is really nothing left of andreshm’s program but the idea. Click bubbles to pop them. What happens when all are popped?

The Bubblewrap was cool, with an extremely low amount of sprites and scripts, but there was completely no originality in the project. It was also very boring, unless you have completely nothing else to do, which is the only time you would be glad to fool around with this project. Luckily, I was in this extremely bored state, which made the project seem a bit more exciting than it should have been.

SpanishGold (6/10)

Guide your treasure hunting ship through the dangerous waters to the long-lost Spanish treasure stash! To move a tile, click it and then press W, A, S, or D. To move your ship use the arrow keys. MORE LEVELS COMING SOON! Try to complete the course in as few moves as possible.

This game was interesting, but a little too short. But still, since this project is apparently unfinished, it’s a start. I was surprised by the simplicity of the game, and it would have been nice if a block would start glowing when it was selected, but this short game is one that I would recommend to anyone.

SMILEY (8/10)

You are Yellow Smiley, the last of your kind yet to be enslaved by the evil Frownies. To free the rest of the Smileys, you must sweep Smiley City entirely clean of all Frownie forces. Without you, no one will ever be happy again… CONTROLS: mouse point and click: fire 1 through 4: change weapons EACH OF YOUR ELIMINATIONS MUST GO ENTIRELY UNDETECTED BY OTHER FROWNIES, OR YOU WILL BE OVERWHELMED AND ENSLAVED AND THE WORLD WILL FOREVER BE PLUNGED INTO MISERY… SO THINK CAREFULLY AND PICK YOUR SHOTS. BEST OF LUCK, SOLDIER

This game looks cool. It sounds cool. But it isn’t cool at all. It’s a game that’s sure to… well… it made me slightly annoyed. Having to start over after one small mistake is annoying. The menu music is slightly loud and is putting a ton of red squiggles under these words because I can’t concentrate. The death graphic is also annoying. Aside from that, this is a great game. It requires strategy, one of those things that scratch games rarely require. I would only play this game when I’m in a very good mood though, as it requires a lot of patience. Still, this game gets a high rating.

Alien Invasion (7/10)

A modern take on Space Invaders. 5 levels of shooting fun are functional, just use your mouse to move and the spacebar to shoot. Drop me some comments!

Downloading makes it run much smoother!

This game was fun. It wasn’t entirely original, but it was still extremely fun. It’s a nice break from our generation of 3d, action packed, shooter games. The controls are easy to use too. (And quite easy to figure out without reading the instructions, actually). The game gets quite crazy at higher levels, but it’s not impossible to beat. One thing that was slightly annoying was that you can’t hold space and expect bullets to keep coming out: there are not enough bullet sprites, but if you imagine that it’s “reloading,” I guess it’s not a real problem.
